American Shorinji-te Aikijutsu

Perfect the art of joint locking self defense as taught by Kaiso Shawn Cephas.

This system evolved from observing and recording the natural fighting tendencies of opponents, and is comprised of Shorinji fighting monks’ self defense, Karate Do, Aiki-jujitsu, Kempo, Jujitsu, and from the Cephas family techniques. The founder has drafted numerous offensive, defensive, hard and soft martial art techniques, all of which can be adapted to the body size, structure, and other characteristics of a student.

The concept of American Shorinji-Te is to modify “old and new” techniques to educate the student to a high level of skill in painful interlocking joint techniques that will render an attacker completely helpless and disable him. The goal for all students and instructors is to practice and research as many different martial arts styles of natural fluid movements to blend well with their own system in a flow.

American Shorinji-Te/Nio Buddhist Warrior Priest martial arts is advanced and effective. Its combination of old and new techniques helps students handle every situation they may encounter – physical, mental and spiritual.

Group lessons are Saturday from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Ancient Arts of War and Wisdom Dojang in Irvine.
