Taekwondo is the national martial "sport" of Korea, an activity emphasizing kicking, concentration and discipline, forms, sparring and agility.

It is offered to children under the ages of 10 as preparation for training in the Korean martial art Kuk Sool Kwan. The intention is to provide a solid foundation in flexibility, coordination, focus and attention, and kicking skills.

Students receive black belts authenticated by the Kukkiwon, an agency of the government of South Korea, and may proceed to Kuk Sool Kwan with the honor of a permanent black tassel on every Kuk Sool color belt.

Taekwondo classes are taught on Mondays and Fridays at 5:15 pm by Kuk Sool Master Mike Dunchok.
